Our<br \/>\nfocus is on migrating customer environments to AWS and managing existing AWS<br \/>\nsolutions. We are growing steadily and are looking to expand our core technical team from<br \/>\ntwo to three System Engineers. Come be part of an exciting group and help shape the<br \/>\ncompany as we grow!<\/p>\n<p>You day will be spent designing and implementing new environments on AWS, fixing<br \/>\nissues, and migrating in new workloads. You will also consult with clients and prospects;<br \/>\nexcellent verbal and written communication is required.<\/p>\n<h3>Requirements<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Fluent in English<\/li>\n<li>Strong AWS experience \u00ad 1 year minimum production experience to include most<br \/>\nAWS services, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>EC2 \/ ELB \/AutoScaling<\/li>\n<li>VPC<\/li>\n<li>Route53<\/li>\n<li>ElastiCache<\/li>\n<li>S3\/Glacier<\/li>\n<li>CloudFront<\/li>\n<li>RDS (Postgresql, mySQL, MS SQL)<\/li>\n<li>DynamoDB<\/li>\n<li>AWS Identity &amp; Access Management (IAM)<\/li>\n<li>CloudWatch<\/li>\n<li>OpsWorks and\/or Chef, CloudFormation, Elastic Beanstalk<\/li>\n<li>SQS<\/li>\n<li>SES<\/li>\n<li>SNS<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>AWS Certified at the Associate level, or able to gain certification in first 90 days as a condition of employment<\/li>\n<li>Strong professional Linux experience (2+ years in a production environment)<\/li>\n<li>Experience managing at least one of the following outside of AWS RDS in a significant production environment:\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>mySQL<\/li>\n<li>Postgresql<\/li>\n<li>MS SQL Server<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Experience managing high scale web sites and applications, with tens to hundreds of<br \/>\ninstances<\/li>\n<li>Scripting ability in bash, ruby, perl, or other<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of PHP application development and deployment (LAMP stack)<\/li>\n<li>Strong Apache and\/or Nginx experience<\/li>\n<li>Experience using source code control, such as git(hub) or mercurial<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continues Delivery processes using Jenkins, Atlassian Bamboo, or other tools<\/li>\n<li>Open to\/comfortable working with core Microsoft Server components: Server<br \/>\n2008r2\/2012, IIS, SQL Server, Active Directory<\/li>\n<li>Comfortable participating in the sales process (think Pre Sales Engineer)<\/li>\n<li>Comfortable filling multiple roles in a small business environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Additional Desired Skills<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>AWS Certified Architect \u00ad\u00ad Professional or the ability to gain within 3\u00ad6 months (strong plus)<\/li>\n<li>Prior IT consulting experience<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Ruby on Rails deployments<\/li>\n<li>Professional experience with Windows Server and related technologies<\/li>\n<li>Ability to write code in PHP, ruby, C, or any other &#8220;real&#8221; language<\/li>\n<li>RHCE, LPIC\u00ad1\/2\/3, or other Linux and Windows Server certifications<\/li>\n<li>BS in Computer Science or related discipline<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Expectations \/ Behaviors &amp; Responsibilities<\/h3>\n<p>While we hope to have some fun around here, this job comes with some serious responsibilities. Your role will be integral to the success or failure of Red Wire&#8217;s operations. With this in mind, we anticipate a need for the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>40-50 hours per week (full\u00adtime, salaried position); will be light and heavy weeks<\/li>\n<li>Detail oriented approach \u00ad\u00ad keep your changes clean and documented \u00ad\u00ad we know it can be painful, but think of the guy who has to wake up at 3am to fix your stuff based on what you write.<\/li>\n<li>Keep promises and arrive promptly to all meetings, deliver projects on\u00adtime and communicate early and often with stakeholders, especially if problems arise<\/li>\n<li>Ability to commute to South end of Seattle at least once per week<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a professional appearance and attitude<\/li>\n<li>Off hours and weekend work is required, but usually flexible and scheduled in advance<\/li>\n<li>Must participate in 24&#215;7 on\u00adcall shifts; you will be the third person on\u00adcall, and thus on\u00adcall approximately 4 weeks per quarter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>What we have to offer<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Flexible schedules<\/li>\n<li>Potential for 4+ days a week remote for the right person (or work from our office, whatever is most productive for you)<\/li>\n<li>Limited out of town travel \u00ad\u00ad almost all customer work is conducted remotely<\/li>\n<li>Potential bonus structure or equity for the right hire<\/li>\n<li>Company cell phone, to keep collaboration and alert channels open when needed<\/li>\n<li>Lots of exposure to the full AWS stack and Linux<\/li>\n<li>SIMPLE IRA program (small business 401k like retirement account)<\/li>\n<li>Compensation DOE, to include health care plan cost considerations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How to Apply<\/h3>\n<p>If you&#8217;re interested in this position, please email info at redwireservices.com<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Position not open.
